Which I think is fairly good going, especially when Thursday involved a lot of Bombay Aaphire, rocks and lime. After which, getting home in time for a late dinner of tacos (or was that breakfast), I woke up after a hearty 3 hours sleep raring to go for a run, which is remarkably pleasant at 4am in the morning.
Running through the Singapore Botanic Garden is a bit scary at this time of morning as there isn’t that much light and with the ipod blaring its fairly surreal. Particularly when you come out on the wrong side of the park to discover that the gate is locked closed and the park doesn’t open until 7am. I was not confidient of navigating to the side gate at which I entered so it was a quick climb over the gate.
But all in all a very enjoyable run. Oh and it was particularly pleasing to run past Orchid Towers where the riff raff hang out and most of the blokes (that weren’t sleeping it off) looked fairly incapacitated.
Hence I may have to try this formula again to validate the performace enhancing properties of Bombay Saphire.

Its strange how a slight elevation in ones run can lead to experiencing shin splints. I know, if you follow Paul’s 18 week plan one should rest today as it Monday (and I was always thought that Sunday was the day of rest) however I think a leisurely stroll back hom of about 3.4km was really a rest.
So by my calculations, that is about 382km since this blog started.

There has been a significant haze over Singapore as the fires in Indonesia and Malyasia blow the smoke across Singapore and people have been aked to stay indoors. On Friday morning at 6:00 it looked cool and clean and I started out the door just as it started to rain. On turning back Margaret said “go on, its only rain”. So, I was soaked but had a lovely run down Bukit-Timah to the Singapore Botanic Garden, through the garden where there were some other loonies and then up orchid road (yes to the ‘tower’) and then home. I only had my pedometer for this so I chalked up roughtly 10,000 steps.
I left my polar gear at work on Friday (having decided on a heavy night on Friday night and not wanting to loose my pack. So Sunday I war an old pedometer and chalked up 10,000 steps in the barmy weather; including swining by work to pick up my kit!
All in all I ran a 20,000 steps (which I gues is not great).
I will have to wear both and work out how many steps make a km.

Ok, so its been a while and I haven’t been able to do that much running with all the work on my plate however today (Sunday). Having just seen the successfull completion of the Barclays Capital Front Office move into One Raffles Quay I though a good destress would be to go for a short run.
I ran (well with a lot of strolling too) about 7km before arriving at the Cathy where Michelle signed me up for Fitness First Then I ran another 4 km home.

Set out at about 9am and ran north from Belmond Green with no plan but to run until I dropped. After running for about 7km along the roads with no one else about I came to an area of sweety people which were either coming or heading to a park. The park turned out to be the McRichie Reservoir. There is a running track around the whole reserve which is a wood platform built above the ground and is about 10km long. A very nice cool run.
Funny that I can’t find any pictures of the reserve but I think Google Map satelite is correct: http://maps.google.com/maphp?hl=en&q=&ie=UTF8&t=k&om=1&z=15&ll=1.346002,103.824148&spn=0.031791,0.039911
Heading out from McRichie Reserve I ran aimlessly and began to get sore shins bt pushed until I had reached my 20.09km target. Before hopping in a Taxi home again.
