Tokyo Marathon

In the absense of any news, I sent an email to jtbgmt-web@jtb.jp today to ask if they could confirm if my application was successful or not. I received a reply in about an hour ….

Congratulations! You have been selected to run the 2007 Tokyo marathon. To secure your place, simply access the URL below to arrange payment of the entry fee no later than October 31 2006, and final confirmation will be sent out by mid November. Note that places can only be allotted after we are in receipt of the relevant fee.

1.As already mentioned in the guidelines for applicants (http:// www.tokyo42195.org/invitation_e.html), the following details cannot be changed once registered: NAME, DATE OF BIRTH, GENDER and EVENT.)

2.Participants should check in at the reception desk at Tokyo Dome on 16-17th February 2007 (not available on the day of the race) in person and with passports or other suitable ID. Each entry qualification for the Tokyo marathon is strictly personal, and non transferable. In the event that a runner’s identity cannot be established satisfactorily, the entry qualification will be voided.  Note: entry fees are non refundable.

3.Guidelines for escorts runners accompanying disabled athletes will be posted on the Tokyo marathon website at the end of October.

5.Health checklist

If you have any medical issues which you think may put you at risk when running, see your doctor. Runners who should seek medical advice from their doctor include those with existing medical problems or symptoms/signs as follows:

High blood pressure

High blood sugar

Hyperlipemia

Smokers

People being treated for heart disease,

People have a family history of heart disease

People who have experienced sudden fainting

People who have not had a medical check up for over a year
