Signing up for the Singapore Half Marathon

2 09 2006

The Singapore Marathon, which occurs on the 3rd of December seems like good preperation for the Tokyo event.  Given that the only other race I ever ran was the FIT run around Imperial Palace in Tokyo, understanding how the race occurs and what you should take with you seemed like a good idea.  Hence I signed up, missing the early bird registration by abot 6 hours and having to pay almost double!

Leavey-san debut

2 09 2006

Leavey-san debut’d on Thursday, joining myself and Joe for 5Km. Set off at a cracking stride and finished in good time. Joe went for another 5Km, and I limped around to Nagatacho, another 3Km, so call it 8Km total.

positivometer : 7
Km since last blog : 8
Total Km : 93

My G-Shock AWG-500J
Bootnote: Leavey-san and I both purchased sports watches on Friday, now that we are clearly advanced athletes :-) You’ll notice my model (pictured) has a reverse button. At the speed I run, that will come in very handy.

20K

1 09 2006

Last night after 15k without major incindent or stress I decided to go one more lap around the palace.  The one extra lap was pretty tough & I had to stop for a few min about half way around.  I also learned its much harder start running again after stopping for a few min (at least for me).  total time was 2 hr 15 min
